Holy Spirit……..The Amplifier

I have this tv that I bought in October that is a really sweet tv!  It is huge, very thin and flat, great picture, and asthetically looks amazing.  The only problem is that the sound is not very good.  If I am watching something that I really want to pay attention to, then I have to crank it all the way up!  Yeah, I said it….ALL THE WAY UP!  I have heard that Samsung pours all of their money into making their tv’s look great, but skimp a bit on the sound!  Well, for a while I have suffered my way through a great tv with a stinky audio.   So last week, I decided to head up to Circuit City and get the deal of a lifetime.  I wanted to get a home theater system for half the price of a normal system and fix my audio problems once and for all.  Long story short, I came home with a great system that I didn’t really pay that much for.  It was worth it because the investment means I can have wireless surround sound and great quality audio for my tv viewing enjoyment!  Once I got it all hooked up, I was able to watch the same tv with amazing sound quality and power, when by itself, was not that powerful.

This concept made me think of how the Holy Spirit empowers us everyday to live the radical Christian life He desires us to live!  There is one thing I have found out about my new home theater system, It doesn’t just work on certain channels or with certain dvd’s, but the power produces this great audio experience in every way imaginable!  What a principle this is!  God didn’t send the Holy Spirit to the earth to just help us in witnessing to people, or to help us preach a rockin message, or to give us a great prayer time.  The Holy Spirit is available to empower us in every aspect of our daily lives!  Romans 8:14 says, “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” To be led by the Spirit means we go where He goes, we do what he is doing, we say what He is saying!  As we learn to truly be led by the Spirit of God, we will encounter this power that will surge through not just one, two, or three channels of our life, but it will explode through every wire, every speaker and every channel that we possess.

I believe the key to letting the Holy Spirit be our Amplifier and to get the best quality life we can possibly attain, is to turn our personal system down, and crank up the new system!  My theater system sounds the best when I mute my tv and let the powerful amplifer do it’s job!  Once I do that, it is amazing how much clearer and crisp the sound is.  I don’t experience the noise conflict that I did when both were competing against each other.  You following me here????  Let God’s amplifier (Holy Spirit) do what He does best!  Amplify your life!
