A Great Team

by Jack Thomas

Let’s be honest, if you are a great leader, you have a great team around you!  Isn’t that true?  Great leaders don’t fly solo.  They have teams of fantastic people who are holding their ladder, so to speak.  I am reading a book by Samuel Chand about the responsibility of a leader to build a team around him/her.  Picture yourself on a ladder 30 feet in the air.  First of all, you wouldn’t think about climbing that ladder without someone holding the base of, right?  As God is taking us leaders to new and higher levels of leadership and influence, we must have people that we trust, that have strength, that are focused, that are committed, etc.  They must be the right people.  I don’t consider myself a great leader, but I do consider myself a growing leader.  I have a team right now who is helping Jamie and I plant this church and I have to say, I am so proud to be leading and serving with them!  We are growing it seems just about every week and the excitement and passion for this community, is not only huge, but it seems to be contagious!  I love that!  Don’t ever underestimate the power and influence of building a team.  It is very important especially in planting a church, but it should be a lot of fun too!  We have such a great team with us!  If you are interested in joining this team that is reaching the city of Pittsburgh and specifically the community of South Side, please contact me and we would be honored to connect with you.

We currently meet at Bruegger’s Bagel on East Carson St. in the South Side at 7pm.  If you just want to drop by and say hi, or even sit down and join the outreach planning and conversation, you are more than welcome!
