Church Planting Boot Camp Update #2

by Jack Thomas

Tonight was a great introduction to what we are convinced will be a fantastic week of learning and growing in our passion to plant churches.  We had a chance tonight to share with our group what we are expecting to gain out of this week.  Before I tell you what we shared, I have to admit that God has truly blessed this work we have begun.  If you would have told me a year and a half ago that we would be in the position we are in today, I seriously would have laughed at you.  It’s not that I couldn’t believe that God could do something like that, but it was just beyond my scope of understanding of how God works all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.  It really is amazing to watch God at work.  LITERALLY!  So, tonight I shared with our group that our main expectation for this week is to network with other people who have the same call and purpose for thier life to plant a church.  Tonight was the beginning of that expectiation because we met several couples who will be planting churches soon and some great church planting leaders in our fellowship.  We are so thankful for this wonderful event and can’t wait to experience the rest of the week.

Stay tuned this week for an update every day on what God is up to!  I hope this church planting series/experiences will encourage those of you who are either on the cuff of planting a church or even if it’s a vision for down the road.  Remember, God’s timing is perfect!  Don’t try to rush the provision and will of God becuase of your excitement to plant a church.  It is vital that you be patient and wait until God is very clear on when it’s time to move forward.  You will know when you are in God’s plan for your church planting adventure!  Yeah, trust me!  You will know!
